INSURANCE CLAIMS MADE SIMPLE

Expert Roof Restoration & Insurance Claim Support

Dealing with roof damage from a storm, fallen tree, fire, or other disaster is stressful enough without the added burden of navigating the insurance claims process. At Evergreen State Roofing, we’ve helped hundreds of Western Washington homeowners file successful insurance claims and restore their roofs to full protection. We understand how the process works, what documentation adjusters need, and how to ensure your claim reflects the true scope of damage.

We work with all major Washington homeowners insurance carriers, including State Farm, Allstate, PEMCO, Farmers Insurance, USAA, Liberty Mutual, Safeco, American Family, Nationwide, and Erie Insurance. Whether your policy is through a national carrier or a regional mutual, our team knows the documentation standards and communication protocols that lead to smooth, approved claims.

Does my homeowners insurance cover roof storm damage?
Most standard homeowners insurance policies in Washington State cover roof damage caused by wind, fallen trees, hail, fire, and other sudden events (known as named perils). Coverage typically includes the cost of repair or replacement, emergency tarping, and interior damage caused by the roof failure. Flood damage requires separate flood insurance. Check your specific policy or ask your agent — we can also help you understand what is typically covered.
How do I file a roof damage insurance claim?
Contact your insurance company as soon as possible after discovering the damage to report the claim. Document the damage with photos from the ground. Then call Evergreen State Roofing at (360) 462-0800 — we will conduct a thorough inspection, provide detailed photo documentation and a professional repair estimate, and coordinate with your assigned adjuster to ensure a smooth claims process.
Will you work directly with my insurance adjuster?
Yes. We coordinate with your insurance adjuster as a standard part of our claims support service. We provide Xactimate-compatible documentation, are available for on-site meetings with adjusters, and communicate directly with your insurance company throughout the process. We work with State Farm, Allstate, PEMCO, Farmers, USAA, Liberty Mutual, Safeco, American Family, Nationwide, and all other carriers.
What if my insurance claim is denied or underpaid?
If your claim is denied or the approved amount does not cover the full scope of necessary repairs, we can help you file a supplemental claim with additional documentation. Our detailed inspection reports and professional estimates often reveal damage that was missed in the initial adjuster visit. If needed, we can meet with a re-inspector to walk through the damage again and advocate for fair coverage.
Should I get multiple estimates before filing a claim?
You are not required to get multiple estimates before filing a claim, and doing so can actually delay the process. We recommend calling us for a free damage assessment first — our detailed inspection and professional estimate gives both you and your insurance company the information needed to move forward. Your adjuster will conduct their own independent assessment as part of the claims process.
How long does the insurance claim and repair process take?
The timeline varies depending on your insurance company and the extent of the damage. Typically, an adjuster visits within 1-2 weeks of filing. Claim approval can take another 1-2 weeks. Once approved, we schedule repairs as quickly as material availability and weather allow — usually within 1-3 weeks. For emergency situations, we can begin temporary repairs (tarping) before the claim is fully processed.
Disasters We Handle

The Insurance Claims Process

Filing a roof damage claim doesn’t have to be complicated. Here’s how our team guides you through each step — from the initial call to the completed repair — so you can focus on your family while we handle the details.

Windstorm & Hurricane Damage
Pacific Northwest windstorms regularly cause significant roof damage — blown-off shingles, lifted flashing, broken ridge caps, and fallen tree impacts. Most homeowners insurance policies cover wind damage as a named peril. We document every wind-related issue to maximize your claim coverage.
Fallen Tree & Debris Impact
A tree falling on your roof is one of the most dramatic — and most fully covered — insurance claims. We coordinate debris removal, structural assessment, temporary weatherproofing, and complete roof restoration. Our documentation includes structural engineer referrals when needed.
Fire & Smoke Damage
Even if a fire doesn’t directly reach your roof, radiant heat and smoke can compromise roofing materials, vents, and attic insulation. We assess fire-related roof damage and work with your insurance carrier to include all affected components in the restoration scope.
Water & Flood Damage
Extended heavy rain — common in Western Washington — can overwhelm aging or damaged roofs and lead to interior water damage. While flood insurance is separate from standard homeowners coverage, water damage from a compromised roof is typically covered. We document the roof failure that caused the water entry.
Hail & Ice Damage
While less common in our region, hail events and ice dam formation can cause significant roof damage. Hail creates pitting and bruising on shingles that reduces their lifespan; ice dams force water under the roof edge. Both are covered perils under standard WA homeowners policies.
Vandalism & Accidental Damage
Vandalism, accidental impacts (such as a contractor damaging your roof while working on another project), and other sudden, unexpected events are covered under most homeowners policies. We provide the same thorough documentation and claims support for these less common but fully covered scenarios.

Why Choose Evergreen State Roofing for Insurance Claims

Not all roofing contractors understand the insurance claims process — and choosing the wrong one can mean an underpaid claim, denied coverage, or repair work that doesn’t fully address the damage. Evergreen State Roofing brings over 30 years of experience working with insurance companies on roof damage claims throughout Western Washington.

We write our damage assessments and repair estimates using Xactimate-compatible language — the same software and terminology your insurance adjuster uses. This eliminates back-and-forth disputes over line items and pricing, because we’re speaking the same language from day one. Our thorough documentation and professional approach mean faster approvals, fewer supplemental claims, and a repair scope that truly covers all the damage.

We never pressure homeowners into unnecessary work, and we never inflate claims. Our reputation is built on honest assessments and quality craftsmanship — which is why insurance adjusters trust our documentation and homeowners recommend us to their neighbors. Whether your roof was damaged by a windstorm in Bremerton, a fallen tree in Gig Harbor, or heavy rainfall in Olympia, we’re here to help you navigate the process and restore your home. Call (360) 462-0800 for a free damage assessment.

Evergreen State Roofing did a great job replacing the incorrectly installed indoor laminate on our outdoor balcony with Tufdek vinyl decking. The results look great and have performed well over the past few months. I would definitely use their services again.

Excellent experience overall. They replaced my entire roof, gutter system, added brand new flashings throughout the roof, installed a new Solatube, replaced damaged boards with quality material, etc. Used Malarkey Legacy shingles, quality snow proofed valleys and quality underpayments. Everything came with a 50 year warranty. Wow! Josh Miller had been outstanding right from estimation and bidding to the final inspection with complete transparency throughout. Their crew was expert and highly professional. Respectful of property and willing to listen. Highly recommend them in case you are looking for roof replacement or related work in the Olympia, Lacey and Tumwater area or beyond.

We needed some specialty roofing work for an historic theater and did not have any available options in our local area. Although located out of town, ESR promptly came for a site visit and provided a reasonable bid so that we could keep our project on track. They communicated with us well during the planning for the project, did an excellent job on the specialty roofing work, and were a pleasure to work with.
